I’m a Las Vegas native and have an old soul. Not many people, no matter the age, can talk circles around me when it comes to my hometown, though they've tried.

I've lived in Southern California and also Phoenix where I proudly graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State. In my other life, I was a journalist. I've produced, run assignment desks, raced TV live trucks to breaking news and written business and feature stories for newspapers and magazines. In my current life, I'm a publicist at heart. After 15 plus years, I still get a rush from placing clients in the media. I am straight with media and they know that for I always remember I was once one of them.

Total years of experience: 25

What I like most about PR: Seeing our work come to life in clips. (PR speak for news articles and broadcasts.)

Career highlights:

  • My first full-time position was working on the morning assignment desk at KTVK in Phoenix even though I was still attending Arizona State University as a journalism student.
  • When I started working for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority in 2003, on day 2, I was handed a news release about a new ad campaign called, “What Happens Here, Stays Here.” The rest is history.
  • One of my favorite artists is Céline Dion. When I was the public relations director for The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas, I had the privilege of working directly with René Angélil and his amazing team on several video shoots and media opportunities. A few years later, I became part of the opening team when she began her current show at The Colosseum at Caesars. What a thrill that was!

Personal Credo: How you do anything is how you do everything.
